It is a beautiful book that gave me a basic understanding of what electronics look like inside. History of past electronics is taught with detailed sliced circuit boards next to text explaining technology that could never be understood without a guide. These are not images of 3D models but real images that capture complexity. Possibly allowed by the authors, there is a full copy of the book for digital reading on the Internet Archive.
